Would you f**k off from the VINES?

Hamish and Ryan did without explanation. But if you were privileged enough to perform with Craig fucking Nichols, how much do you have to take for granted? I am glad for each band member's contribution to Vines songs and recordings, but I don't understand the motives. Hamish joined the awful Wolf Mother over the Vines? Probably because they get gigs to perform in front of fake fans and he needs money. Fuck off. I continue to support Craig.

I just miss the Vines so much

Hamish didn't leave for Wolfmother, Andrew rang him up AFTER he left The Vines, Hammy didn't leave to join them, he just saw the opportunity to play with another internationally successful Aussie band after leaving another and who wouldn't. He seems to like all the 70's rock which is what Wolfmother is primarily of, so good on him for being able to find another band he can continue on with.

He's kinda like, Australia's Matt Cameron almost, just not playing with both bands at the same time.

Ryan, maybe he'll just return to normality and just have a quiet life from now on. But good on him for doing so, he's had his fun for the past 10 years, now he has a wife and apparently a child (I'm not entirely sure), I think I'd just like to know all 3 are still friends.

Yeah, I hope they are all still friends. It just seemed strange to quit right before the gig at splendour(?) was it? I guess I just don't know anything about their matters.

Did anybody see that the new Empire of the Sun record has been announced? No mention of collaboration with Craig, and no mention of Nick Launay.

Whatever happened to that project?

Ryan definitely has a child. I remember seeing them at the 2011 Big Day Out and Craig congratulated Ryan and his wife because they'd literally had their child within the previous couple of days (if not the very night before). I hope we see/hear more from Ryan in the future.

I know Ryan is busy with family commitments which I think is really sweet and I hope it's doing him some good to be a bit more grounded, but I too really we see something from him in the future. The prospect of a Ryan solo album is really interesting to me.

Amen to that! The way David was kinda kicked out was a bit crappy, I like his Ringoesque drumming! And yeah I hope Ryan does a solo record or gets a band together coz he's got some good musical influences, BRMC being one of them! He talked of it a while ago didn't he? That might have been another reason he left the group, coz I'm guessing he mainly just played what Craig told him to in The Vines.
