I don't know that much about paintings and stuff, but I really dig the paintings John Squire (Guitarist of The Stone Roses) does. Many of his works are inspired by Jackson Pollock, which is a great artist as well.

Interesting thread. Beautiful place.
By the way, I think I had never really appreciated any art other than modern, until recently. I've stepped into the most famous portrait, Mona Lisa, and it's strange to feel related with this portrait by Leonardo Da Vinci. I'm not posting the Mona Lisa because probably you all know it very well.

It's the most overrated painting in the world. Even my old history teacher said when she went to the Lourve in Paris and was a huge crowd lining up just to see this small painting behind a glass panel.
