This makes no sense. Leaving the Vines to join a shit band that rips off 70's rock without any of their own originality.

Just because a band is influenced by a certain genre of music (to which every band is) doesn't mean they are "ripping off" other artists music. You could argue The Vines rip off plenty of other bands with that logic...

the vines put their own spin and personality into their music.

wolfmother just clone their sound and image directly out of the early 70's. it's derivative, insincere and emotionless. led zeppelin have already existed. why listen to the tribute band when you can have the real thing. that's my logic.

That logic is flawed. Wolfmother write their own music and also add a new spin to it. Who are you to say they can't have an influence in their music??

Wolfmother don't add anything to their music that the world hasn't already heard a thousand times before in the 70's. Borgy is right. They're bland, unoriginal and are generally just a carbon copy of hundreds of other wank metal bands that died once Nirvana came out in '92.

That headline seems a bit sensationalist, there's no quote from Hamish saying he was dumped. If he was dumped though i've lost a bit of respect for Craig 'cause Hamish seemed like his biggest supporter during the dark days & their comeback with Vision Valley.

Plus they seemed like friends not a business which is a downer.

Rosser dismisses reports that he was ‘dumped’ by Nicholls and co and cast doubt over the future of the band, telling FL that “Craig will always write great music in the future and he may choose to carry on under The Vines’ name.”

Rosser cites differences with Nicholls as the reason for his departure, saying that “Part of the reason for falling out with Craig is that I’ve always enjoyed playing in more than one band at any given time. Its important for your growth as a musician to put yourself in different musical situations and this was always an issue with Craig.”

At least we know a little more about what happened...and that Craig didn't dumped him

Well we know the Vines aren't finished either way and their headline is crap. It's disappointing that they left 'cause they did add power. but Craig wrote the songs and their management last week said something exciting is coming that's Vines related. SO Vines (version 3.0) will be here soon.

For what it says it seems that not even Craig knows what will happen with "The Vines"

Well, we can't deny this is a good oportunity for Hamish even thought it's sad, but now he can tour overseas and it seems he needed a break ..oh i'm gonna miss him

I find it quite funny that this topic was posted 3 weeks ago and it's only the past couple of days that the media has caught on

It's Great that Hamish has joined Wolfmother I'm sure he will enjoy his time with them and I wish him well..I've always been a fan and look forward to seeing them play soon, with Hamish on the drums.. However with the headlines that the press are now using to describe his Vines departure and the claims that are being made about The Vines breaking up..I feel it's time now for their management or even Sony to make a statement..If there are exciting things about to happen in The Vines camp, then It's definetly time to start talking about it, before the break up comments take over!!
It is true that the line up we all know and luv dearly is no more..But if they are recruiting new members, if Craig is pulling it all together..if things are happening..Then It's time to squash the rumours and put some facts out there..Put an end to the speculation, blame and stories that have been circulating whilst lack of facts have been know..I WILL ALWAYS support Craig and who ever wants to play along side him in The Vines and I have faith that Good things will Happen Soon..But Let's Start Hearing About Them

Wow 3 1/2 months later and there's finally some news on who left who. It sounds like Hamish bailed which doesn't suprise me. He always gave Craig the stink eye lol. It's good for Hamish to be happy. The big question is will the Vines find 3 replacements out of the woodwork? Poor Craig, he must be super bummed.

Wikipedia has been updated...annnnnnd Brad still on the members list....
