| Since I was 12 or something, I've pretty much gone from one obsession to another. It's gone; Nirvana (12-15) - Alkaline Trio (15-18) mewithoutYou (18-21) - La Dispute (21-present) My Nirvana days seem so long ago now. Kurt Cobain was my God at that age, haha. | |

| I'll list mine in chronological order. Like most of you, I'm a bit of a music nut, so there are a lot of obsessions (and they weren't just phases of admiration; they were proper obsessions), and many of them overlap... and yes, it is possible to be obsessed with more than one band simultaneously! My life has always been otherwise empty enough to allow for that. I've had extensive phases of admiration for other bands, but these are the ones that were most significant. Ages 5 - 8: Five (yes, that British boyband (don't judge, I was 5 years old!)) Ages 8 - 13: Silverchair (still really love them) Ages 9 - 12: The Beatles (still listen a lot) Ages 10 - 16: Nirvana (my biggest obsession, but don't listen much anymore) Ages 10 - now: The Vines (my most consistent love) Ages 13 - 15: Oasis Ages 14 - 16: Muse Ages 15 - 18: Hole / Courtney Love (this was probably my most intense obsession) Ages 17 - now: Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (probably my most genuine love) Ages 19 - now: Suede Honorary mentions go to: Jeff Buckley (14-16), Children Collide (16-18), Fiona Apple (15-18), Kasabian (14-now) BUT TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION (most honestly) IN ONE PICTURE: | |

| I'm quite obsessive by nature, give me something I'd like (all from bands to certain objects like shirts, hats, posters and pin buttons or food and drinks...or photography) and see what happens. That's why my friends avoid me haha.
When I was a kid (11-12) I was mad about everything Irish and there was a heap of Celtic artists I listened to all the time, which made everybody go mad at me ;p I learned how to do Irish dancing and learned a bit of Gaelic which served me well at uni 5 years ago. This obsession lasted way too long but I gave it up when I graduated high school. Okay, I gave it up when I realised I wanted to be a lead singer in a rock band Of course, in the meantime I had other obsessions like rock and metal bands...
I used to obsess over Zeromancer, Orgy, Depeche Mode, Paradise Lost and The Sisters Of Mercy (15-18). Then came Nirvana, Blur, The Verve, Oasis, Muse and Placebo (18-20). I had a short nu metal and metalcore period but I didn't have a favourite band because almost all sound the same. It was a phase when I was feeling enraged and hateful.
The Vines became my major obsession and favourite band in early 2008, I'd listened to them before but I guess I couldn't really appreciate their sound and listened only to their "rock-out" songs.
These days I can't stop listening to Kasabian and God Is An Astronaut! By the way I'm addicted to Lilya Corneli's photography!

| Oh what fun! Since I am sooooo old it may take me a few posts. Songs List from very young... You may need to look up the artists. "Jeremiah was a bull frog" "Puff the magic dragon" "If I had a hammer" - Blue Ridge Quartet = my first autographed band picture Eagles - there was so many great bands and songs of the 70's it would take forever to remember and list. Jackson 5 Bread Wings The Doors Bee Gees Shawn Cassidy Carpenters AC/DC Rod Stewart (Some of these I don't even like anymore) 80's Talking Heads Men at Work Prince Michael Jackson Van Halen Bangles Hooters The Fixx Guns & Roses Pink Floyd -I think it should go in the 70's- Duran Duran Rush There are alot of names I do not know so Make fun of this list for now and I'll be back later. xoxo, Suzy | |

Heeey, wasn't it one of your usernames on the old forum? Certainly was. It's interesting that a lot of us obsessed about Nirvana at one point or another. Essential listening for those teenage angst filled nights, I suppose. I still listen to Incesticide and certain songs off the boxset from time to time, but like Howl, I rarely listen to them anymore. Milked them beyond all basic comprehension.

| I should point out, Nirvana isn't my only obsession (Though by far, it's my biggest ) My first obsession was The Vines actually, I was like 5 I think first band I learnt to remember their name, did not regret it Others are: Silverchair (I only enjoy frogstomp to bits of Diorama) Alice In Chains Wolfmother (I was 8, and Andrews afro was awesome ) Pendulum Children Collide Kings Of Leon Linkin Park (I was like 6 or 7) It's short I know, but I'm still young | |
