The Vines Digital Tribute Album Project

Hey, all.

Are there any other rockers out there who wish to compile their band's Vines cover songs for a digital tribute album? I got the idea from the existing Vines tribute album (https://thevines.forumotion.com/t171-any-vines-tribute-albums-out-theres), but that album just sounds like plain rubbish.

I was thinking it would be cool to just compile our efforts on a predetermined web page and people could listen for free

Anybody got any bright ideas?

I could throw something together. I've done a few covers, but wouldn't mind doing something new...

I call going gone.

I don't have much in the way for recording equipment around me, but I'll try to get something in
Autumn Shade II.

It'll take me an age to put the drum part together as I have to do it note by note on a drum machine.

Drums done. Now just have to find time to record it all. Work will be very busy for the next few days and I'm away next weekend so it may be a week or two before I'm done.

We need a tribute name, too. The Vines Forum Members tribute! Anybody got a good idea for a name?

It would be nice on youtube because there's a lot of people there, but not everyone recorded the covers with a video. So, it would be nice on soundcloud. I have mine on mp3. And we can do new covers for the page

ya for sure. that's a good idea. the existing tribute album sucks haha. If I was gunna cover any song it would be one of the following

- Blues Riff
- 1969
- Lawman/Take A Sunday
- Autumn Shade 2

I have a copy of Vision Valley that I sang a real long time ago for the old forum but I sound like Iam about 8 years old in it heh

I think a title should be something like ....

Still Free - A tribute to the vines. Or maybe that's just a title I think they should use for their next album hahaha. Whatever dudes!! I think doing a tribute is a sick idea though.

I make a cover of "Goodbye" and "all that you do", and maybe i post on mediafire if you need to hear.

We should put up a facebook page! My band will definitely do Vines covers!

GLAD you like the name! haha. Maybe a soundcloud would work. you could post the link of it on the vines FB but i dunno if it needs a page of its own. any band/musician could promote it through their own facebook or something? I've seen some record labels do that in the past with digital download on a soundcloud noting each different band. Seemed to work pretty well.

Are we gunna set any timeline or anything or just wait and see how many people wanna be part of it?

My cover of going gone is coming on nicely. The basics are done. I'm just messing with it now and adding all the fun stuff before I start layering vocals. I guestimate about a month before it's done.

I could manage it too. Either of us i guess. We seem to be the most interested in the project ! If i were super rich i would suggest that we all throw some money together and get some vinyls pressed of them. That'd be so fucking rad.
