| Nothing, not even parker & mr french will say anything, my guesses are that the album has been all recorded, produced & mixed by now. They're still signed to Sony Music Australia so at least they didn't drop them after Craig's altercation. Has anyone checked Lachie's instagram lately for any more photos released? | |

I know right! Craig has talked about this album since Future Primitive and I even asked him when I met him after the Byron Bay show in 2011 and he said they had about 10 songs down then (sorry, any excuse to mention I've met the guy!!) He said late 2011 early 2012, and then it was early 2013. And lets not forget that a single usually comes about 2 months prior to the albums release so it'll be a while! I assume they had to rerecord the songs after the other guys left, for legal reasons. Although imagine if it was a double album, old and new vines! The closest I found to news was here: http://fuckyeahthevines.tumblr.com/page/2 with what looks like a recent picture of Craig about 5 posts down (which proves he's not doing time!) and Parker and Mr. French's vague Facebook response down the bottom. And what about the Nick Littlemore project? Maybe he didn't want get involved after the incident last year with Craig. Anyway, as someone else mentioned on here before, check out a band called 'Neon' to pass the time, they sound like a more pop-rock Vines but they're a pretty good Vines-patch!

Yeah, I saw that new photo surface on Tumblr. At least we know he's alive, haha. It's so frustrating not even knowing what's happened to these albums, let alone when we'll see them! Oh well, I guess we won't be waiting forever.

Neon supported The Vines, Jet & The Living End for the Aussie Invasion tour back in '04. Not much has come from them since their debut album was released back then, but it was a pretty kick-arse album. If this album info gets dragged out as long & painfully like The Avalanches 2nd album then I will start smashing heads together.

| I just don't think Craig is getting the same managerial support as he used to. Maybe he is searching for a new label to put out the new stuff? I also recall an interview where he said he was gathering demos up for a potential release in addition to another Vines album I have dreams about The Vines album No. 6! | |

| If a 6th album is coming out, I'm really hoping for more effort. Craig can write a riff/melody with no issues, but seems to have stopped developing his ideas. I feel like he probably pops out an idea for a song and calls it "good enough." The first two albums shine so much brighter than the rest. The effort was there, you can tell. I don't want another album of 1-2 minute songs that have wayyy more potential than they were given. | |

Hamish & Ryan left in late November 2011 after a new three-piece featuring drummer Murray Sheridan appeared at Homebake that year, after another performance in early january 2012 they disbanded & Hamish joined Wolfmother later on that year while Brad left & played bass for a band called Dune Rats. Craig recruited Tim Johnson on bass & Lachy West on drums to record album number 6 late last year. Have I left anything out?

| Don't know how old this is but i found it via a posy on the fuckyeahthevines tumblr: http://parkerandmrfrench.tumblr.com/thevines . All it says about the new album/nick littlemore thing is: "2013 has The Vines sixth album in the incubator and an announcement coming about a new and the first collaborative side project from Craig Nicholls." Which we already kinda knew! | |

He said on his instagram that the first single is coming very soon, and its "pretty heavy" apparently. I'm hoping its 'Animal Machine' heavy!

It was a post on the 3rd picture along (with the drums and computer screen). http://instagram.com/lucky_west/Doesn't say much, think they're trying to avoid revealing too much. I'm pretty excited for this album, its been a long time coming. I'm assuming that they've just rerecorded the songs they did before Ryan and Hamish left. They said then that some were psychedelic and some where kinda country rock as well as some standard rocky Vines songs. I imagine it to be like a less dark Vision Valley; just hope they expand the songs/idea a bit instead of having loads of 1:30-2:00 minute songs.

And Melodia had loads of screaming (Braindead, Merrygoround, Scream!)! And Future Primitive has that great scream in the middle of Riverview Ave, but yeah I prefer the 1st 3 records definitely. Future Primitive probably would of sounded better without all the sound effects and spacey stuff but its cool that they went for something new! And Melodia should of sounded like the 1st 2 records, with the same producer and all, but I think he went a bit overboard with production.

this is happening tears, girly shrieks whatever else that can explain the joy in my head
VINES VINES :'D
yes this is happening, wow It's only been two years but the breakup and arrest had me worried
Vines is all a human needs, many people don't understand that, that is why the world is in such a mess
I cannot wait for this, ust cannot wait
and yes the 1:30 minute songs are disappointing, its probably because they force craig to cut them
If you listen to gross out, it sounds like it's going somewhere but it ends before it can, the same thing can be said for Jamola

When was the SWN tour scheduled? Because it would give us a good idea of when the album will be coming out.
