I wish I shared your optimism Anysound. I like the theory that the reason for the delay is so Craig can grow his hair again and film a proper video. I for one never want to see that slicked back blonde hairdo. Ugh!

You could do, but it may stress him out! It'd have to be along the lines of 'hope is all well, its been pretty quiet lately, we can't wait to hear more music'.

It's a shame Craig doesn't use computers coz he could upload demos and stuff to make the wait easier on the fans.
On another note, doesn't it seem odd that Hamish left coz Craig didn't like him playing in other bands, yet he's picked 2 new guys who are in multiple bands already? He's needs a steady band that are on the same page as him and that can encourage him the way Patrick did in the early days... anyway I'm just rambling now!

The only way we could send letters to him is through Park and Mr French but I'm not sure if they'll past them onto him.

Hey, just thought i would let you know i saw a former member of the band last week and he said cause of sony pulling out and Craig's issues with the law the album is pushed till next year. He said while he can't speak 100% on it cause he isn't in the band anymore he said currently this album is at least production wise stuck in the same situation as Melodia. To best semi-quote him "without major backing everything takes longer as you have to have everything in place to best fit Craig, but at the same time be cost effective. The album itself isn't the issue. It's properly 100% finished, it's just getting everything in place to promoted and tour it takes time and planing. Without a "Sony" to help it just takes longer"

He did also state that he is not in the band so this isn't 100% it's just coming from him being in the band and past experience he would say he couldn't see it coming out this year at all. It depends on what they decided they do, and what happens as a result. if they are releasing it themselfs then they are in the process of sorting that out meaning it's on the way but if they are shopping it around in the hope a record company picks it up that will delay the release because if they do get it picked up said company isn't just going to release it they will set release dates and promote an blah blah blah but if they are trying to sell it and nobody is buying then decided to release it themselfs then that's going to hold it up as all the time they spend trying to sell it becomes wasted unless they are getting all that set up while they are trying to sell it incase they can't find anyone to buy it...long story short, I don't know the details of what they are planning so I can't give you an answer other then, it will come out one way or another.

Well that sucks! But thanks for the info. I'm guessing they won't self-release, although now would be a good time for them to set that kind of thing up, like BRMC have their Abstract Dragon label, then they wouldn't need to rely on major backing. You didn't happen to ask what happened to the album that they recorded in 2011 when the old members were still in the band did you? I've said it before but my guess is they rerecorded the songs after the break-up. This wait is killing me as I promised myself I would listen to any Vines albums until the new album is out, and I made that decision very early this year! It's such a wind-up seeing the tracklisting and pictures from the video shoot and getting promises of news and nothing comes up.

na, I didn't ask about it. the member in question just happened to be in my store and I just happened to be wearing my vision valley tour t-shirt so i guess he was a bit more honest then he should have been. As a result i don't want to say which member it was because i don't know the extent of there relationship "or lack of it" but seeing that they are no longer working together I wouldn't want to say the name only to have craig or the management not take to kindly to said former member saying the album won't be out this year or anything about the album for that matter.

I'm sure the vines could reach worldwide the top 10 in the charts with their albums.
Because as sad as it is, it's all about marketing and big budget, so you need a big label to be succesful.
Otherwise the radio stations wouldn't play these weird shit music from Lady Gaga,Katy Perry, Rihanna...

Yes they were together. I spotted them straight away because they were both wearing their "signature" caps. They were on the floor and a bit in front of the merchandise stand. No, I didn't go and say hi. I didn't want to bother them. I did however sneak a few glances at them while I was drinking my beer and during the first few songs that Immigrant Union played (amazing band!!!). I then made my way to the front to get a good spot for BRMC.

Fair enough, I would've felt the same. I saw the baby-faced bassist and shaggy-haired vocalist of Immigrant Union at the airport on Sunday morning and I didn't approach them because it wasn't even 7am and they looked as dead as I felt so I didn't want to bother them.

But wow, that's awesome, just to see them. I've been waiting almost a whole year to see a member of The Vines randomly (though at a gig isn't so random, heh). It's also cool you spoke to Brad, even briefly.

A photographer (Yana Amur) who was taking photos at the Sydney gig just messaged me:

"Hey Elena! I was at the BRMC in Sydney too, taking photos. And I just saw your post about Vines guys. I'll tell you what: I also saw Craig there after the show! I didn't approach him but I think he was speaking to BRMC guys at some point. Not much point in this message, but I thought I'd tell you "

!!! I asked her about it and she said Craig was "just outside HiFi after the show". OH MY GOODDDD.

Aaaahhh I wished I went to this concert. I was planning to go for my birthday but it clashed with assessments that had to be submitted to uni before I graduated.

I know the feeeeeel. After 2 week period of crazy assessment tasks (i.e. my brain already being fried) I had my last assessment task of the semester due the day after I was to arrive in Melbourne and the night before I was to see BRMC so I worked super hard to get it done in one day before I left. It came down to the wire and I almost went insane, so if I had more assessments due that week I wouldn't have been able to go. Congrats graduating though, Kate! Well done!
