sorry if my english is bad, i'm indonesian btw, any news again ??? No news. However, The Griswolds are playing shows in the US again in March 2014 so everything is still up in the air. I think we should try contacting Parker and Mr French to see what is happening.

| On a side note to this topic, Ride is on some car ad in Australia so hopefully that'll provide some financial support towards whatever's happening with the album. I said a while ago that they weren't on Sony Australia's artist roster anymore but I just realised that I'm not sure if all their artists are, so there could be hope yet! But my guess is they're label-seeking and waiting for the Griswolds to get back from the US. | |

And more on Sony, The Vines are still on their current artists list on wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sony_Music_Australia (although that don't count for much!) And Sony is still listed as their label on facebook.

| (Hypothetically) more sad news. I spoke to my brothers friend who used to run one of the big indy record labels in Aus. He said due to craig needing certain conditions to tour and record labels needing them to tour to sell the album he thinks best case the album won't drop till at least june. But he said what's more likely is oct but wouldn't rule out even as late as feb 2015. The reason being is craig can't tour heavy so the best way to work around that is do festivals. Apart from being easier on craig it's also easier on them as they wouldn't run the risk of booking normal gigs and it not selling out or booking to many gigs then have craig burn out and have to cancel shows. Plus with festivals you have merch on sale. people going to vines gigs are vines fans people that are at festivals are not just vines fans. playing festivals get more fans and brings back old ones. Finally the band needs the festivals to still be seen as relevant. If they release an album in march and it doesn't sell why would any festival want them on their line up?
He said if he was managing them The Vines best bet to have a good album release/tour is to release the album late enough to run of the back of festivals in the end of the year starting with few small local venues like the brass monkey right before the album release. Rather then do say 1 show at the metro where they would have to release tickets for it a month in advance and it would maybe sell out at the door on or maybe afew days before. If they pick a smaller local venue it would not only make them sound better but because the venue would sell out so fast they could add and sell out a 2nd or 3rd date creating music media interest rather then doing 1 gig at the metro and slowly sell tickets. The room would be full of hardcore vines fans and a hand full of media so it would be hard for the gig to not go down extremely well and management could easily explain the small venue choice by saying craig lives in the shire and it's more comfortable for him. If all goes well they get great lead up media to the album. Then do press to carry them over to Homebake and other festivals. Finally once that's over do their own tour, in their own time in 2015.

| Hey, does anyone recall a little band from Liverpool, England called The Beatles? In 1966, they stopped touring and playing ANY shows altogether and managed to pump out 6 more groundbreaking albums and a handful of b-sides and singles during their confinement in the studio!!! I know in this day and age that playing shows is the best way to get noticed and of course $ell merch, but I just feel that if you have recorded music, and if it is of good quality, it is going to be heard! | |

A good point, and one I've thought of before. Only difference is The Beatles had the money and the profile to stop touring. The Vines don't have a huge profile (even though they should have) and the lack of extensive touring since Winning Days has probably had an affect on that. Even if they toured like they did with Vision Valley (Australia and England) that would help some. They could find a balance between extensive and minimal touring to get back in the spotlight, and release another album as good as the first 3.

| The Griswolds are doing an AMA on Reddit tonight at 8pm AEST. Should ask them about their relation to The Vines? Edit: It said on the Iama subreddit that it's at 4pm Eastern Standard Time (US) so it could be 8am tomorrow Australian Eastern Standard Time. http://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA | |

I wonder when the second was recorded?! I assume the sessions from August 2012 onwards were the first with the new guys. Fingers crossed they go for a double album, that'd make the wait a bit more bearable! They did mention two different producers...

| I'd prefer one album of all incredible tunes with split production and a heap of b-sides for singles than two albums with any degree of filler whatsoever. The Vines can't afford anything else. | |

| I hope, the vines are not too long delay of their albums. I am worried because the fans will be disappointed and gradually disappeared, except me. anytime up until the end of my life. I still would love the vines and craig nicholls | |

| The Griswolds are going to be touring overseas until June this year so everything is still up in the air. Their managers should really say something about what is really going on. edit: Also Lachlan has a Twitter account https://twitter.com/lucky__west | |

| It's very sad we don't have news about Craig yet. What is he doing? He should have 1500 songs at least!
I keep thinking of them everyday cos my email is the title of their 3rd album Have Australian people forgotten them in the meanwhile?

| It is sad we don't have news yet, but I don't think Australians have forgotten The Vines. People don't forget their favourite bands just because they're not releasing new music or touring/promoting an album. As for the general Australian public, who knows? | |

| Maybe, there's no label which wants to release another the vines-album. Unfortunately, Future Primitive wasn't a big success | |

| Does anyone have any news? should I stop dreaming about new songs?
What is the big hold up? the Vines can never be popular with the shitty music out there
Miley Cyrus is in the top 10
Is craig thinking he can break into the scene again? none of the good bands are famous anymore
unless craig completely changes the music, then I guess it won't even be worth the wait haha
But seriously what is going on

BUT WHERE BE THE CRAIG? Where's this from? That's gotta hurt Craig, all his ex-bandmate save from David Oliffe playing together.

| There's more about where that photo came from here: https://www.facebook.com/craignichollsfans It was hashtagged with 'TheVines' and 'reunion' but I doubt it's anything to get excited about. They're probably just jamming with Patrick for old time's sake. You never know though... | |

| But why'd they share such photos if there was nothing to get excited over? It seems waaaay too tantalising to mean nothing, and surely they'd realise that fans are going to frenzy upon seeing something like that? I mean, it means something in itself - even if it doesn't mean anything is going to happen, it means they're all friends still which (for me, anyway) is just super nice to know. Well, anyway. LET'S ALL JUST WAIT AND SEE. | |
