6th album?

I've got a feeling that the Launay/Littlemore album will never see the light of day. I think both will be worried about the negative associations that may be made with Craig following the events of last year and the effect those associations may have on their own reputations. Look what happened to Chris Brown. While the circumstances are very different, people won't see that - they'll only see the headline i.e. Craig assaulted his mum/a woman.

July came and went and there was no news. Same with August. We are in September and still NO NEWS!!!

Guys, is there someone who knows what's going on?

I love the vines and will always listen and support their music but this pretty much happens every album now.. wether it's the management, record label or the band somebody needs to sort this mess out!

I find this time to be the most frustrating part of loving this band. It's always the same, the promise of news by a certain time and then nothing for months, with no explanation.

The worst part of it is that, as fans, we can see what's left of the Vines' reputation being damaged by poor management and we are powerless to do anything about it.

Were I in Sydney, I'd gather a small collective of Vines fans, march down to Parker and Mr French and demand satisfaction!

 I'm chomping at the bit to hear The Vines and their all new line up! 

I understand the not playing any shows thing (I'm nowhere near the continent of Oz), but I just want the albums more than anything.

Remember the days when Jess (Craig's sis) would keep the forum running and answer queries? 

 Lets start a hunger strike until we get some news!

I was kinda doubting how legit this was (no offence to 'Craig Nicholls Fans' facebook). But then I realised Craig uses a Boss 'Metal Zone' distortion pedal so that makes this tracklisting seem more likely. And its just a guess, but I reckon its meant to be 'Ladybug' but it was misread because of Craig's handwriting. I think 'Craig Nicholls Fans' got the list from a handwritten page so it's likely. But my bet's on Metal Zone or Venus Fly Trap for the 1st single and all their album names (save from Melodia) have been two-word song titles so I'm for Green Utopia as the title track! Pretty pumped anyway! So glad there's been plenty of new releases from other great bands recently to keep us sane while we wait for this record.

I waited so long for some news and got so excited when I saw this, that I ejaculated all over my laptop

Apparently there hasn't been any concrete/official news from management/band/label due to a court issue in regards to Craig's altercation last year that was addressed two days ago (18th Sept), hopefully it'll settle everything & this album can be released.

The Vines are no longer on Sony Music Australia's local roster... bit worrying. They really haven't done well with labels, hopefully they'll get on a smaller label that actually gives a shit about them!

Wonder if Ivy League would take them up again, they did reasonable promotion for 'Melodia' (a lot better than what Sony did for Future Primitive), or maybe even Modular.

Yeah I was thinking Ivy League as well. Not sure if they left on good terms though! Craig should start an Autumn Shade Records!

I guess it's really unlikely that an album will be out by the end of this year or never.

Try and put a positive spin on it... they will have come off the Sony roster for a reason i.e. Sony have been contractually compelled to remove The Vines' name from their roster, because the band is going onto another label elsewhere. We just don't know exactly where yet, that's all.

I remember reading somewhere during the promotion for FP that they were only signed on for one album. And since it didn't chart all that well I wouldn't be surprised if they were released anyways. Then again I want to know how Craig would of been able to record that Littlemore/Launay album in the UK, with an orchestra, without label support. Like it's understandable that they self-funded the recording & whatnot with Future Primitive because it was all done in Sydney with a local producer, but I don't think Craig would of been able to record this album completely self-funded, even if Littlemore & Launay chipped in, so it'd have to be released on a label surely.

So does it bother anyone else that it's OCTOBER 2013 AND THERE'S STILL NO NEWS FROM THE BAND, THEIR MANAGEMENT OR ANYONE!!!!

Yeah it does, it's driving me insane! The album was finished nearly a year ago and even after those photos of the video shoot, still nothing!

haha maybe they're waiting to release the album cause craig hates his dumb haircut hahaha jk... but whats with all the styling gel

I guess the album won't be released until next year due to current legal issues as well as Lachie and Tim going to America with The Griswolds for five months so we'll probably have to wait until February to hear anything major.

Damn. If Kate's right.... 5 more months?! Ughh...  Well, I suppose it's not that much longer given the context of our waiting in recent years. I just hope when news finally breaks, the new album and video/s break with it in a storm of amazing music.
