I am new at the forum, because it was just open. I miss the old one, I had an account, but never let me log in. So that was rubbish. But I read the things you published, anyway. I am expecting...no, I'm not expecting anything. I must confess I hate humans, but I will have tolerance for you, as I do not want my account to be forbidden. Also, I'm sorry but sometimes I just can not hide my Belphegor/Dissection-fan behaviour. I really love this band named The Vines. Live long and prosper.

Hi I'm Rusty (Anna) from Poland. The old forum was my cyberhome for over 6 years and I was pretty devastated (to put it mildly) when it was finally closed down.
I should be thankful though that it was just locked and not deleted altogether... I still go there every day to browse through my fave threads lol Pathetic, I know ;p

Yeah hehe. i used to write in DTI forum but never in .com i'm not very good with english so i was lasy to put something, but yes a iam a big fan i have all this records and two vines tattos too heh cheers to every one:D

I used to write on .com but not DTI haha. Don't worry about your English, practice can only make you better, so don't be shy. ^_^ And wow, nice! You should post pictures of your tattoos (if you want to).

Hello!That's really interesting what you said,because Factory was the song that made me fall in love with this band.I had already listened to Get Free,but didn't pay too much attention to it,but when I listened to Factory I knew I had found something really special.

Aww Thanks guys! you sure know how to make a chap feel welcome! I feel like a bit of an idiot for not joining many years ago! but hey ho what can you do? I didn't want to give the impression that I was just getting into the band, because since I was 18/19 (now 27) they have been a part of my everyday life! and not to get too Emo on yo Ass, but I don't think I'd be here today if it wasn't for The Vines and a few other bands, so I wear them on my sleeve most definately!

also too Anysound, I can't begin to imagine what "super cool" people you are referring too? Nope, cant tell at all, Ooo are they from Wigan by any chance? HAHAHA. I feel like you guys probably think I am making this all all up but I promise I'm not. My first favourite band were indeed the Verve! and I started playing guitar because of Nick MCcabe, and one of the most regretable experiences of my life was when I find out on the night of the Haigh hall Gig that they were playing! granted I was only about 14 at the time but still would have given anything to have gone! with the Verve I have to admit I heard Urban hymns first and worked my way back through A northern soul, A strom in Heaven and the Gravity Grave ep... and had the pleasure of meeting Simon Jones one day whilst out shopping ( and yes he did talk as if he had smoke an ounce of weed before he nipped out haha)

I'm from a place in Lancashire called Blackburn, not too far from wigan, about 15 minutes in the car. so I'm sure we'll get on simmingly! haha

Patricia, HI! I first heard the vines single 'Factory' on a heavenly records compalation that came free with the NME one week (back when the NME was good!) and initially was really excited because Doves were on it, but then heard the vines and it was amazing!!! it was like the Beatles and joined Nirvana! and then only a few weeks later they apeared on Later with Jools Holland, and being a straight male I had a strange thing happen to me, I fell in Love with a Man! HAHAHA, although I managed to stay straight haha, and then I heard their demo's which had blue's riff, down at the club etc... and I can't explain how I felt! then I proceeded to form a Vines covers band called the scarves! haha no defunct.

anyways I am totally rambling now, I need some kind of edit feature! but I'm sure you get the picture haha, I'm a fan!

Ohh right, well you shouldn't have worried. It's only the close-minded who form their opinion of someone based on how long they've been a fan of a band (or been on a forum devoted to them, as the case may be). And you won't find anyone like that here. I can't say about the old old forum though, I have only been around since late 2008/ early 2009... but we're all very friendly here, I assure you. Besides, I only discovered the band in 2008!
Awh, that's just awesome when a band/s can have a such a profound and positive impact on your life. ^_^

Hahaha, how did you know?! Yes indeed, I was referring to the Verve, though I'm always confused if Wigan is actually considered part of Lanchasire or not. Well anyway, I know Nick McCabe was born in Lancashire for sure, and that every other member (except Peter and Simon (I think?)) was born in Wigan so it still kind of counts! Same with Bolton, where Vernon Kay is from, I think it's kind of but not really part of Lancashire - either way, he's pretty cool too (but nowhere near as cool as the Verve boys. ).

Oh, and I have one other super cool person from Lancashire in mind... Jon Richardson! One of my favourite comedians. ^_^

I don't think you're making it up at all, I just think it's SO FREAKING AWESOME that it seems unbelievable. haha.

I can't believe your first favourite band was the Verve, so cool! And that's awesome Nick inspired you to start playing guitar.
Oh my god, and you even have a connection to their homecoming gig as well! But wait, if you're 27 now, wouldn't you have been 8, not 14, at the time of their homecoming gig? Well either way, you would have been pulverised if you had gone.

Me too, I only properly discovered the Verve in 2008 (same year as the Vines! ) and, naturally, I started out with UH as it was the only album of theirs I could find in my town. That album changed my life. I then got Forth a short time later (masterpiece!) and it was a while before I could get my hands on ASIH, ANS, No Come Down, The Verve EP, The Singles, and Richard's solo albums - but it happened! I'm still in the collecting stage but yeah, I have a been a massive fan of them since I first discovered them.
And they really have had a significant impact on my life, because like the Vines, they have changed me for the better and because of them I have met some truly wonderful people. ^_^

You met Simon? When was that? And haha, somehow his disposition doesn't surprise me.

Ohh, awesome. 15 minutes from Wigan?! Oh my god. My town is 15 minutes from the worst town in the world (okay, maybe that's an overstatement... haha), I couldn't imagine just being able to casually drive into such an awesome place.

Haha, I'm sure we will too!
