Patrick was by far the most important member aside from Craig. Nothing against hamish , ryan or brad... But technically Ryan was only ever added to the band cause craig wanted backing guitar when they were touring (although he OBVIOUSLY became an important member). Brad never seemed to fit for me... Hamish was obviously THE drummer following the first guy David..

Pat and Craig though... i want pat back! i want hamish back and i want ryan back!

Guys, I don't think it's a good idea to add him as a friend on Facebook and pester him just like Brad and Hamish's profiles. We need to respect the personal lives of the band members. And he might be a temporary replacement. Nothing is confirmed yet.

Who's angry? I agree the lack of information is frustrating, and those who are saying not to be nasty to the drummer, including myself, are just trying to put some perspective into the situation.

Be upset and angry at the right people - i think that's all anyone is trying to say.

The Vines fans are dedicated and loyal....i consider myself one of those. I saw the Homebake set live, it was a shock to see and not know what was going on...and still it sux there is no word yet either! I'm sad half the band is gone. It's rubbish! But i support them and am just thankful it's not the END of The Vines.

Hopefully we can get some info soon to help us all deal with what's happend!!!!

Even though Craig is THE songwriter for the Vines .... the Vines were (are) a band... and a band has members. If the members of Led Zeppelin all changed accept Jimmy Page I bet the band name would have changed too. A band is more than just the one guy behind all the music, its about THE BAND. There's a vibe a band gives off and people either buy into it or they dont. Changing the lineup this drastically is really weird as far as bands go..

THATS'S for sure!!! It is very drastic. Are we going to be satisfied with any reason we're given?

Oh wow, there seems to be an increasing number of "camps" when it comes to this situation. I guess it makes sense though - it is a pretty sudden, dividing issue and different opinions and feelings are bound to result. I guess we all have to try to remember we're all fans - we're on the band's forum after all - and to try and respect each other's opinions. Though I do feel personally attacking Murray is going a bit far.

I understand your desire to know what happened I really wish to know it too, but there's no need to blame Jessica in absense of information, she is always doing everything she can. I almost sure she just has been told to keep silence untill some point, that's it.

It's not like it's news about the biggest band in the world - there shouldn't really be any reason to "keep silence" and keep things secret. It's not we're discussing the breakup of Led Zeppelin or something.... Not that I'm saying that the vines music isn't my favourite in the world! I'm just saying the band doesn't seem to be at a high enough status that we can't get more contact from the band..

I end up feelign really dumb for being part of a forum for my favourite band when we literally hear NOTHIGN from the band ever... ever.. ever.. We hear from his sister every once in a while with like.. the smallest amount of news.
I basicallly just don't like feeling stupid for supporting a band through this forum..

This forum is a great place for fans to get together and share thoughts etc etc...and Jess is here regulary which is great, but i kind of have to agree, there isn't much more here for fans.

Joing sites and forums is supposed to be a way for a bands biggest fans to be rewarded for their dedication with a closer experience to the band and/or receiving information before the rest of the world. A closer interation with the band.

Where's the interaction or reward? Does their management even give a shit about this site or The Vines fan?

I am sure this change in the band is affecting the band members alot more than us, the fans.

Sometimes decisions are not made instantly. Maybe they are trying out a few new people.

Or, just need some time to reconsider circumstances that have arisen.

Sometimes rash choices are followed up by thoughtful change.

I'm sure they have alot going on and don't want to give out info that may still be up in the air.

I hope the support for the guys continue, no matter what they choose in life.

Patience, love and understanding is what we all need - including the band, so maybe if we remain calm and hopeful for the best result...

You're right, i feel bad for suddenly being impatient. I wasn't feeling that way at all before and was positive about it....i still am, i'm just anxious now for some reason.

I will always love and support The Vines. Times like these are testing and i allowed my selfishness to take over.
