Hang in there you guys!!
Here in Europe we're still in the clutches of this devilish cold snap, and it doesn't look like it's going to relent any time soon People are dying all over the place
I categorically demand that the persons responsible for the current situation warm the damn climate (if not globally at least locally) right now! ;p
Haha, we will. ^_^ And wait.. literally dying? That's terrible! Okay, I'm sending some of our warmth your way! - omgwtf wrote:
For what it's worth, it never gets easier or better. What you know now is all you'll ever know. God, don't say that! That's so bleak and depressing. And I believe it's completely untrue. People have enormous capabilities to change their patterns of thinking and habits and with perseverence it can be done. I'm trying to improve - and though I have good days and bad - I feel like I'm getting somewhere. It's just a matter of staying positive, pushing the boundaries and not giving up when you fail (and yeah, I know it's harder than it sounds). Don't give in, Caroline, you're a much stronger person than I and I know it's hard and that is sucks and sometimes everything seems pointless but it will be okay. Oh, and since, like me, you find it hard to socialise with people in everyday situations, just remember that you have all of us here who care about you, and who will gladly hear of your "horror stories" and sympathise with you (speaking of... I had the most awkward conversation with someone at school today, and I accidentally hurt a younger kid at school and I felt bad allll day).

Yeah. This makes all one's problems seem pretty insignificant, doesn't it - Anysound wrote:
- My Ancient History teacher of the last year has resigned out of the blue. He was one of my favourite teachers and he never even said anything but has apparently already visited the school to collect his possessions. As lame as this is, I'll really miss him. He was so nice and chilled out and was really funny too; he'd joke around with us about the content of the course, and other matters. And before and after we watched a (fictional) film based on the events of, and set in, the past he'd always say, in a slightly surprised yet accepting tone of voice, with a nod of his head, "here's another true story" or "true story!" haha.
Oh, that sure sucks... Do you know why he's resigning? And no, it's not lame that you should miss him, a teacher like that is a treasure ... I've just bought an Arabic language textbook, and whoa... Some exemplary sentences one can find there: ana Rami (I'm Ramy) Rami kabir (Ramy is tall) Rami sarif (Ramy is noble) sakana Rami fe Bulanda (Ramy lived In Poland LOOL) If, upon further perusal of this thing, I find something like: رامي هو أفضل مطرب في مصر ( Ramy is the best singer in Egypt), it'll be a sure sign that I'm simply hallucinating, so I guess it'll be high time to check myself into a funny farm, and fast

Before that I had other teachers for history. And yeah, our new teacher is my Geography teacher and student mentor, who I also had as a history teacher for a couple of years in my junior years. She's an awesome teacher, though her workload is massive. At least I know I'm in safe hands. - Rusty wrote:

(it must be heartrending for a parent to see his/her child suffer from something like that...) I just hope it wasn't anything malignant edit: I'll try to be more explicit in future ;p but whenever I see that... that word I just want to close my eyes and scream - Anysound wrote:

Hahah I realized that must be the case but it was too late to edit my post lol Most embarrassing lol My first thought was that perhaps he was one of those teachers who never seem to be able to stay in one place for more than a little while, and they usually are the best ones (that was, sadly, my experience) And yay, things aren't so bad then (:

| For the first time in ages, I'm pretty sure someone's interested in hanging out with me and getting to know me, but I keep turning her down every time she asks me to do something. Why? I'm not sure. It's easier if I just say it's because she's not you. | |

edit: I'll try to be more explicit in future ;p but whenever I see that... that word I just want to close my eyes and scream Haha, indeed. And I'm not sure if it is, but I'm pretty sure they'll be fine. Unfortunately getting skin cancers cut out is a lot more common than you may think in Australia. For most people it gets cut out and that's the end of it. Awh, I know. Me too. Certain words, images and even sounds kill me inside as they remind me of those horrible things I've experienced in regards to my father. Sometimes I really can't handle it. I started crying in my Biology class last year. >_< Luckily that was the only public incident. - Rusty wrote:

| ^ Awwhhh, awesome! ^__^ Thanks for sharing. We had a really, really short yet mildly intense (haha) storm hit earlier. I waited all day for it to break; the sky was so black to one side and teased me all day with its faltering shades. At lunch it even had the nerve to throw down just a few tiny, round heavy drops which I caught in my hand. All day I kept one eye on the sky and this afternoon in particular it seemed it had so many moods; every time I looked up from my work and out through the window, the sky had changed in colour and its clouds in form. Finally this evening just before the sun went down the storm hit. The winds raged, thunder clapped and the rain flooded our backyard but it was all over within a couple of minutes. Such a shame. Zeus really likes to string me along! By the way, do you still film videos, Suzy? I miss seeing your little updates in my YouTube subscriptions box. - Rusty wrote:
