I heard the "oooooo lalala" and I thought to myself "god where have I heard that before" then I realized it was that song and I was like "Yes! That's bloody awesome!"

Nah, clubbing's not really my scene and judging by the information on Wikipedia, I was an hour and a half bus ride away from Amnesia anyway. I just went to relax and to get away from here, tbh. Have you been or something?

I met a couple of really nice girls today and it really got me thinking about socialising in general. Like, everytime I meet someone new, it's really captivating and almost entirely consuming for the first while as I'm getting to know them, but then, something happens and it just disintegrates into this void of nothingness and I lose all interest in them, they lose all interest in me and I don't understand why.

I'd genuinely like to continue talking to them, but I run out of things to say and it always runs into a brick wall. Sometimes, I really wish I had the ability or even the desire to captivate people for longer than a few hours, but I'm tired of trying now. It always ends in the same self-destructive bullshit way anyway. I honestly feel like I'll forever sabotage all my potential future friendships and relationships for the sake of acting like it's for their own good and pretend that I'm some noble gentleman who's doing a good thing and saving them from myself. I don't know what the fuck to think anymore. I want to kill myself on nights like this though. Bring on tomorrow.

My heart goes out to you. I don't want to presume I know the answers to give you. But I have read your posts for a while now and think you have a good heart. I see your efforts and struggles in the romantic areas.

While being in a relationship can bring a sort of contentment, it is the most difficult and needy thing in life.

Meeting new people brings an excitement. An expectation of things unknown. The thrill of chase. And a boost to our ego when someone shows interest back.

It sounds like you are looking for a long term committed relationship. Something not everyone is ready for right now.

Yes, socializing can bring the opportunity to meet many people. The chance to enjoy the hunt.

But, I think you are placing too much pressure on yourself to find the "one". Too much pressure on yourself to continue a friendship into a relationship so fast.

These times should be filled with fun. Times to enjoy who you are and who you will become. Find the things you enjoy in life and live that way. Then people will see the contentment and confidence you have on your own. People will then be drawn to you wondering what you are all about.

Then, keep what you are all about to yourself. Sharing bits and pieces that relate to others. The rest keep for that "one" who one day may cross your path. And I think you will recognize her when she comes along. How? You will feel a comfort with them. You will have similar goals, likes, and dislikes.

But again, a relationship is alot of work. It takes alot of care. It consumes your heart. It takes it to the highest peak and drops you off the cliff to test your flying ability.

Hold onto your heart, and stay away from the cliffs until you are content with yourself. Then you can share yourself with another.

You've kind of missed the point I was trying to get at, to be honest. The point was, I just find it really hard to connect with people on any sort of level, but funnily enough, the day after I posted that, I met someone else and it's changed my opinion on the whole thing all together. Honestly, it's all good for now.

Anyway, yeah, seem to be getting along with this girl really well at the moment, so let's just see how it works out. She phoned me earlier and we spoke for ages and at no point during the conversation did I want to shoot myself, so I suppose that's a good sign, hahaha.

Well, the good news is, I'm over it.

It was pretty cool for like two days or something, but I've lost all interest again. Made plans to hang out with her yesterday, but then I ended up calling it off and stayed in to watch television in bed instead. Definitely think I made the right choice. I really just can't be bothered making the effort. It's alright though, this is how it should be. It makes more sense this way.

I will, don't you worry about that. I actually played at an open mic night tonight with the drummer in my band and he introduced me to his sister who was there and I've got to say, fucking hell! She was right up my street. She played guitar, she wrote her own songs and she was really attractive. I could've easily grown to have liked her, but she's already got a boyfriend (obviously). Why are the best ones always taken? Not really too bothered about it at the moment because I'm pretty drunk, but I'll definitely be disappointed by the time I wake up. Would've definitely tried it on with her if she was single despite the repeated warnings from my drummer to stay away from her.
